Today want to get into a topic close to my heart: community among creators.
It’s something I’ve been pondering lately because finding the right community can be challenging. There are many great options out there, but often, joining a community involves a financial commitment. While investing in these communities can be worthwhile, balancing multiple subscriptions can be daunting.
The Roost
Recently, I joined The Roost, a community led by Louis Grenier. For two main reasons, I trust him and I can pay monthly (This is a BIG deal). I’m excited for the upcoming session today (I’m in it right now!!!) but I still don’t know if it’s a right fit. However, as much as I value professional development, I yearn for a community that also nurtures my creativity as a content creator.
Desire to Collaborate.
I’ve toyed with the idea of starting my own community. Yet, I’m not just looking to teach; I want to collaborate. Building a community where creators from Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean can connect, share ideas, and grow together is my vision. But it’s not without its challenges.
There’s a hesitancy among creators, fearing idea theft or massive impostor or superiority syndrome.
I believe in the power of collaboration. Imagine educational content creators, edutainment creators, and other creators coming together to elevate the creator economy of our region. It’s not about competition but collective growth.
Should I Start a Mastermind?
I’ve considered launching a mastermind group tailored for experienced creators. This wouldn’t be for beginners but for those ready to accelerate their journey with like-minded peers. I envision regular meetings, hot seat sessions, Q&A and perhaps even “office hours”, an environment where we can learn, support, and innovate together.
Looking for people like me.
If you resonate with this vision, if you’re an educational creator from the Caribbean looking to expand your impact and connect with peers, I would love to explore this together.
In summary, we can build a community where collaboration thrives, where educational and edutainment creators can flourish together.
If this resonates with you, let’s do it.
